For this task, we learnt about colour theory and all the types of pallets found within. I did this to understand how to use colour appropriately and not just at random, as most media creators would tell me to not use more than three main colours as part of my house style, perhaps adding another pop of colour in small doses to highlight something significant.
The colour choices I make need to be consistently used across the products (magazines) as well as on the website I will be creating. This consistent and identifiable use of colour will help me form an overall 'house style' and create a strong 'brand identity'.
Task:
Create a 'Colour Development' poster which:
1) showcases your understanding of colour theory
2) identifies colours used in examples of other magazines
3) showcase THREE main colour ideas that you have for your work.
I then chose three possible colours as some ideas for my magazine colour scheme.
I chose these colours because they are all darker colours and I want to main colours of my magazine to be darker, so the text that I will end up putting on it can stand out better. It also fits with the brief's target audience, because if the dominant colour was bright it could connote the magazine is more for children.
